FAQ

App Privacy

TrackMe – Race Log contains no ads or outside links, does not connect to social media, and there are no extras to purchase. The only information that is collected is information that you voluntarily give, such as your email address, to create an account. If you choose to enter the location of meets, that information is collected, but is never shared, and only the name is collected, no GPS information. Analytic and crash data are collected.

Who is this for?

TrackMe is for racers of all kinds including runners, swimmers, cyclists, skaters, and skiers. Currently, the app is primarily geared toward runners, but I aim to enhance it to better accommodate other racing sports and field event athletes.

How do you track all of your historical race results?

I used to keep a spreadsheet of all race dates, distances, names, and times, dividing them up by season, and then creating graphs for different distances to view progress. The spreadsheet became a bit unwieldy and difficult to use, so instead I now use TrackMe – Race Log. This iPhone or iPad app lets me track all my race results, then I can view, filter, and zoom in on graphs that are automatically generated.

How is TrackMe – Race Log different from Athletic.net?

I have an Athletic.net account, too, and most of my school and club meets are automatically entered. I like to enter my times from Athletic.net into TrackMe – Race Log so that my times for school and club races can be viewed together on graphs across both of them. In addition, there are 5k or other races that I participate in that are not part of high school or club leagues. Those do not show up on Athletic.net, but I can enter them on TrackMe – Race Log and have them all in one place.

How is TrackMe – Race Log different from Strava?

TrackMe does not collect any GPS or health/fitness data and is not integrated with any apps that do. It is also not a social media app so there is no sharing of data. There is no comparing with others. This is just for you.

Also, TrackMe – Race Log is not intended to be a training log. There is a different and unique effort put forth in races, so you can compare your race times for given distances. Of course, different cross country courses pose different challenges as does weather conditions and other factors, which is where the notes field for each race comes in handy.
